Nature can inspire and Art at the Lake is designed to showcase handcrafted items and original art. The Trout Lake Nature Center will be showcasing all types of creative products from paintings, to woodworking, to calligraphy, to photography, to needlework and more. We are inviting local artisans, artists and crafters to come to the Trout Lake Nature Center to show off and sell their works of art on November 9th.

Skill level: Adult Beginner (no experience required)
Adult beginner pen and ink watercolor project painting Hank the Turkey. You will learn how to apply a pattern, draw a little and master the technique of pen and ink and washes of watercolor. Class fee is $50 and it includes all supplies, brushes and paints. You will be able to keep the permanent ink pen. You must register in advance on the TLNC website or by calling 352-357-7536.

Situated in our backyard, the Florida Black Bear Scenic Byway is packed with hidden treasures and chances to "touch the forest". Surrounded by the Ocala National Forest, the byway highlights the importance of preserving nature and the value of public lands.
The corridor leads you through natural and recreational sites, traversing eastern Marion County and parts of Lake, Putnam, and Volusia counties. This month's presentation will feature a new perspective on how we can enjoy our local natural resources and benefits of the land that belongs to the public, including some fun unique facts about the Ocala National Forest.
Folk Music Third Saturdays Concert. $7 at the door. The potluck will begin at 7 PM with music at 7:45. Bring a covered dish for the potluck.

2000 years ago the Ancient Greeks were the first people who looked up at the night sky and divided up all of the stars into 88 groups, naming each for creatures, things, and people who were part of their legends and stories.
Retired Lake County Schools Planetarium Director Mike Ryan wants to share with you a fabulous story about five of the star groups that are part of a terror tale known to us as the famous Andromeda Legend. Star charts will also be given out to pinpoint these 5 constellations in the night sky during this time of year.
