With the end of the school year, we transition from on-site learning experiences for schools to going on the road.
During the summer, we provide learning activities to summer programs around our area and to the Extended Learning Centers throughout Lake County. We also travel out of county to provide education activities to summer programs in the area. Although some programs come to TLNC as a mostly wetland area we can be hot and buggy. This makes outside summer programs challenging instead we offer indoor programs such as Reading Tails and Water Color Painting.
Summer is a time we prepare for the more active Fall/Winter/Spring season when the weather is cooler and both avian and human snow birds migrate back to Florida. We clean, update, reorganize and plan programs and events for our visitors and residents to enjoy. This summer as our maintenance building is completed, we will be moving into and organizing this new space.
Recently, we began taking reservations during the next school year. We want our student programs to be fun, engaging and a great learning experience. The following was sent to us by a teacher whose classes came to TLNC last week: “We thank TLNC for such wonderful team and how well organized you were, despite we were late than planned. Children had a great time and Parents as well. I will see you next school year!”
