The Trout Lake Nature Center is dog friendly and we even have an office dog—Cinder. We ask owners to curb their dog’s enthusiasm for marking our infrastructure (lamp posts, kiosks, poles, habitats, etc.). Staff and volunteers have to maintain and do repairs. No one appreciates handling something impregnated with dog urine. TLNC has plenty of bushes and trees that your dog can use to mark, if necessary.
Recently, it was reported that pet waste is being left in the middle of our trails. Or even worse, some dog poop bags have been flung into the woods along the trails. The TLNC Board allowed dogs on the property provided the dogs were well-mannered, leashed and their person picks up after them. Two dog poo containers are on the property and we offer dog poo bags in case you forget your own bags.
