World Migratory Bird Day – May 9

This small song bird has greyish wing, tail and head feathers with a yellow rump

On May 9 we celebrate the incredible journeys of migratory birds—tiny travelers that cross oceans, continents, and skies to keep our ecosystems thriving. These birds remind us how connected our world truly is. From songbirds to shorebirds, each migration is a story of resilience, instinct, and survival. But these journeys are becoming harder due to habitat loss, climate change, and pollution.

What can we do?

  • Protect natural habitats

  • Keep skies safe (turn off unnecessary lights at night)

  • Support conservation efforts

  • Spread awareness

Let’s honor these amazing travelers by doing our part to keep their paths safe. Every small action makes a difference.
