Something magical is waiting along the Armadillo Trail at Trout Lake Nature Center (TLNC)! Hidden among the trees and natural surroundings, five forest gnomes have arrived — ready to share fun, curiosity, and the wonders of nature with visitors of all ages.
Gnome Chase is an interactive outdoor experience that invites guests to explore the Armadillo Trail while learning about the plants, wildlife, and habitats that make Trout Lake Nature Center a special place.
Powered by the free Goosechase app, this self-guided experience transforms a walk through the woods into a fun-filled journey of challenges, activities, and nature discoveries.
Along the trail, visitors will encounter five forest gnomes tucked throughout the landscape. Each gnome offers a new opportunity to observe, learn, and connect with nature through engaging activities and nature-inspired challenges.

Gnome Chase is included with regular admission to Trout Lake Nature Center. There is no additional cost to participate.
Before arriving, visitors can download the free Goosechase app on their mobile device. Once at TLNC, participants can join by using the Gnome Chase invite link or scanning the QR code provided at the nature center.

After opening the adventure, participants can choose to join as a Guest or register for a Goosechase account. Selecting Guest allows visitors to begin immediately, while registering provides a more personalized experience.
The Goosechase app will guide participants along the Armadillo Trail with interactive challenges and activities. Keep your eyes open — the five forest gnomes are waiting to share their nature secrets!
