We will open on 10/12, and resume limited operations. Both buildings are undamaged and open. However, several trails are inaccessible due to downed trees and flooding. This includes the boardwalk to the lake. Other trails are passable, but are covered in leaf debris, small limbs, and muddy in spots. If you decide to visit, please keep this in mind. We will announce when all trails are accessible again.

A large mouth bass is rising out of the water jumping to catch a fuzzy fishing bait. Its silvery and greenish body is in a c-shaped curve with its tail splashing the water.

This is the second class in the series of children's watercolor classes at the Trout Lake Nature Center. Taught by watercolor artist Ellen Westerholm, budding artists will learn how to use water colors and paint a bass jumping out of the water. Class is most appropriate for 6 to 12 year olds. Everyone must register to attend. Cost is $30/child.
