Yes, TLNC staff and volunteers will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the US on July 4th and the Trout Lake Nature Center will be closed. Also, celebrating its 283rd birthday this year is our Grandfather Oak that is estimated to have been a seedling when Thomas Jefferson was born in 1743. TLNC will reopen on Sunday from 1 to 4 PM returning to our regular summer operating hours.
So, you have more time to enjoy nature in the cooler parts of the day, TLNC opens at 7 AM and closes at 8 PM on Tuesday and Thursday. Come early or come after the afternoon showers to walk our trails or have a "dinner" at our picnic areas.
