Schoolchildren will be on site for a field trip this day. TLNC is still open to the public while the school is on-site, however, students may be using the buildings and on the trails. Please call (352) 357-7536 if you need more information.

Artist and teacher Ellen Westerholm will hold a "Sip and Paint" at the Trout Lake Nature Center on December 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM for adults. Westerholm will be guiding you through painting holiday cards. You can paint 1, 2 or 3 cards. You are given the chose of several different designs to use for your cards.

You can bring any adult beverage you desire to imbibe but hot chocolate and tea will be provided with some snacks. TLNC provides painting supplies along with coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

This program is for adults and the cost is $50.

To help us walk our talk: Please bring any paint, brushes, markers or other supplies from attending a previous painting class to use. Cost is $50/person.

Folk Music Third Saturdays Concert. $7 at the door. The potluck will begin at 7 PM with music at 7:45. Bring a covered dish for the potluck.

The Trout Lake Nature Center will be closed for Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's so our staff and volunteers can enjoy the holidays. TLNC will reopen on December 26 at 9 AM and January 2 at 9 AM for our regular hours.

Has your dog been waiting for cooler weather to join its canine friends for a walk in the woods and a little socialization? Join our Pack Walks. All dogs must be well-behaved, on a 6’ non-retractable lead, and friendly with other dogs and people. The dog’s person is responsible for picking up and disposing of any deposits left by their dog
