Join expert instructor, and artist, Ellen Westerholm as she guides you through creating a cute duck with water colors. Cost is $35/child which includes your entry fee to the facilities. If you have attended a previous water color painting class we ask you to help us walk our environmental talk by bringing back any leftover paints or brushes. This class is for children ages 6 to 12 years old only.

This program is designed for 2 to 5-year-olds to have a positive experience with nature and the outdoors. Children must be accompanied by an adult and should dress for playing outdoors and getting dirty. This month the PAWS Therapy dogs will be joining us once again. Your child will learn how to safely approach a strange dog and how to behave around a dog. Afterwards the dogs will take the children on a short walk on our trails.

It is held monthly on the fourth Wednesday. Adults are required to register their child by going online to the TLNC website calendar to register online. The program is limited to 20 children with their adult(s). TLNC entry fee is $5/vehicle but TLNC members enter for free.

Folk Music Third Saturdays Concert. $7 at the door. The potluck will begin at 7 PM with music at 7:30. Bring a covered dish for the potluck.

Maria Bautista, Resident Horticulture Agent at the UF/IFAS Extension Lake County, will present a program on gardening in Florida.

Everyone loves to look at dragonflies as they fly throughout Lake County. Join expert instructor and artist Ellen Westerholm as she guides you through creating a dragonfly of your own with water colors. Cost is $50/person which includes your entry fee to the facilities. Bring your child with a book or use a book we have for reading to the PAWS Therapy dogs and TLNC office dog at Trout Lake Nature Center (TLNC). Following the reading with the dogs, there will be a nature book reading to engage the children in the environment. Registration is required. The number of children participating is limited so enough dogs can be present for each child.

A $5/vehicle entry fee is charged to all non-TLNC members. Members enter for free.

Schoolchildren will be on site for a field trip this day. TLNC is still open to the public while the school is on-site, however, students may be using the buildings and on the trails. Please call (352) 357-7536 if you need more information.
